The catalogue of the sale “fashion and friendship” is a document invaluable to the history of fashion of the Twentieth century. The style Yves Saint Laurent is a summary of over 300 creations of haute couture and luxury brands Left Bank (the line of ready-to-wear launched in 1966) commissioned by Catherine Deneuve, between 1969 and 2002. It includes day clothes (tailors-skirts or pants, trench coats, capes) as well as a hundred dresses and costumes of the evening spectacular. “The majority of lots is dated in the 1980’s and 1990’s. A prosperous period during which Saint Laurent did défrichait more but had his classics. These parts are eternal. All that is put to the auction is in an impeccable state”, explains Olivier Châtenet, an expert in vintage.
