Entry into adult life is not done in the same way everywhere in Europe. Depending on the country, the age at which young people leave the parental home fluctuates greatly. If they take their independence from their 18 years in Sweden, young adults are more inclined to take advantage of their parents as one approaches the Mediterranean. Economic reasons, but also cultural and social ones, seem to justify such a disparity.
The French tend to take off early, before the age of 24, below the European average. One fact is however unanimous: in all countries, women leave home before men, with differences that can be very significant. In Romania, for example, women leave the family home on average at 25, compared to 30 for men.
