An exhibition bringing together 42 masterpieces of impressionist signed big names such as Monet, Cézanne and Renoir, exceptionally loaned by the musée d’orsay in Paris, was inaugurated Tuesday in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. «This is the first time that an exhibition on impressionism can share in the african soil some of the wonders of Orsay and I hope that the moroccan public will be able to enjoy it,» said Laurence des Cars, the president of the musée d’orsay, before the opening.

All from the great galleries of the impressionists of the paris museum, these paintings of the Nineteenth century are presented in color, from black to white, passing through the green-blue and pink, a tone of «major» to impressionism, as explained by Paul Perrin, one of the curators of the exhibition. One of the thirty cathedrals of Rouen painted by Claude Monet, clinging to the Flap in the «rose room», is the shining example.

«If I paint clear, it is because it was necessary to paint clear. This was not the result of a theory but of a need that was in the air in all the world,» announces a quote from Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), at the entrance of the exhibition.
