and to All of those who have the time to look at women in prison, you know the solitude is great, the cut with the outside, more bitter. Often, women, who, for one reason or another, must be serving a sentence, have their condemnation aggravated by the fact that they do not receive that very rarely visits.

This seems a cruelty terrible. But this is the first fact that struck the writer Mohamed Kacimi when he led a workshop at Fleury-Mérogis. It has been found as early as the bus ride from porte d’orléans. At the third station, a prison for women, no-one goes down…

It is from this experience that he drew All my dreams leave from gare d’austerlitz (published in Avant-scène théâtre, 14 euros), which is the sentence one of the protagonists, Zélie (Jamila Aznague), a sentence that said the expectations are simple, the expectations of departure, travel, new horizons. But the walls are there…

Mohamed Kacimi is the action of his piece, a Christmas evening. He spent with the women of Fleury, of Christmases in jail… He knows what he’s talking about. It is based on his experience. He does not steal anything to the women with which he was involved, but it makes us sensitive to their formidable energy, and the capacity of invention which is the engine of their daily lives. Otherwise, how do?

Nothing soothing, honeyed, in this dive in the heart of an exceptional evening, which is suffering of the rules of detention and thoughts contradicting each other.

on Christmas eve, a night in the library that holds Barbara (Marjorie Nakache, which sign, therefore, the stage), a few women were gathered, who will do as if they shared a wonderful meal together… there is Zélie, therefore, but also Lily (Olga Grumberg), Rosa (Gabrielle Cohen), Marylou (Irene Voyatzis) and finally Frida (Marina Pastor), who has just been imprisoned.

Nothing soothing, honeyed, in this dive in the heart of an exceptional evening, which is suffering of the rules of detention and thoughts contradicting each other. The guilt, the remorse, the fear, the grief, the desire for annihilation, all the crosses. These are not angels, and of the deaf conflicts can be hatched, and solidarity is sometimes only an illusion…

But Mohamed Kacimi offers a thinning of its characters. By the happy medium of a book, the theatre suddenly going to pounce on these women. Alfred de Musset is the unexpected guest of this celebration, and each of them takes to the game, and each plays the game of another life, the game of literature.

This beautiful work was created last spring at the Studio Theatre of Stains, an island of art and transmission, which owes its life, its radiation, Marjorie Nakache, Xavier Marcheschi, Kamel Ouarti. The piece is strong, well-composed, the characters have the depth and a humanity that is touching.

To see in Paris, or, a little later, at the Studio Theatre, a haven of creation…
