The French director Benoît Jacquot, will preside over the jury of the 11th international Festival of the detective movie Beaune, which will be held in the city of Côte-d’or of 3 to 7 April. Filmmaker of the feeling of love, Benoît Jacquot, 72 years, is known for his adaptations of literary works: Dostoevsky ( The musician Killer ), Henry James ( the Wings of the dove ), Kafka ( America ), or Marivaux ( The Next False ).

The grand prize was income in 2018 to The Looming storm ( The storm imminent ), of the Chinese Dong Yue, narrating the obsession of a security chief of an old factory in southern China, shortly before the handover of Hong Kong in 1997, to solve a series of murders of young women. The price in new Blood, dedicated to young directors, was awarded last year’s Ajji the filmmaker’s indian Devashish Makhija. The jury of «new Blood» will be chaired this year by producer and writer Samuel Benchetrit.
The jury prize was awarded last year to the Memoir of a Murderer ( Memory killer) of the South Korean Won Shin-yun, while the film A darkness , the belgian director Samuel Tilman, was the winner of the special police, awarded each year by professionals of the police.
