based on a true story, Green Book: on the roads of the South recounts the journey of a bouncer italo-american hired as a driver by the composer and virtuoso african-american Gift Shirley. The green paper of the title refers to a tourist guide, listing the few hotels and restaurants in the south of the United States accepting clients of color. Born into a family of immigrants from jamaica, Don Shirley played by Mahershala Ali (oscar winner for Moonlight ) is a character cultivated in the English punished and kept neat, ill-prepared to face the racism of the South. High in the streets and bars of New York, Tony “Lip” Vallelonga, played by Viggo Mortensen ( the Lord of The Rings, Captain Fantastic ), mania the curse, and his fists to make themselves heard. Their life together starts on a wrong foot but they are going to mutually get to know each other, help each other and understand each other, abandoning their prejudices of each.
