Two performances of “Michel Legrand & Friends” at the Grand Rex in Paris, scheduled with the composer, had been finally maintained on the 17 and 18 April. Many artists with musical influences as diverse will share the stage to play in memory of the composer who died on the 26th of January.

The accordionist Richard Galliano is in charge of the artistic direction of these two evenings. Around him, the big band of Michel Legrand will accompany the fine flower of jazz: the saxophonist and clarinetist Michel Portal, trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, and the guitarists Biréli Lagrène and Sylvain Luc on stage at the Grand Rex. Two female voices major will also be present: the soprano Natalie Dessay and the singer Nana Mouskouri.

These two concerts, which were to be given by Michel Legrand himself with musicians and friends, will see these renowned artists resume greatest successes of the composer, in this case the original compositions he had created for The Umbrellas of Cherbourg , The young girls of Rochefort , The Thomas Crown Affair , summer of 42 , and others.
