For the French cinema, the 80s are synonymous with meetings. While the New Wave is still present, another generation brings a breath of freshness. Luc Besson, Leos Carax, Jean-Jacques Beineix… This new band of filmmakers will take command of the French cinema.

The Forum des images, dedicated until February 28, 2019 a retrospective entitled “France in the 80’s. The film treats its look”. Nearly 60 films to review or discover the works that have marked these years. We can’t forget the abyssal Big Blue of Luc Besson, projected Saturday, February 16, at 21 h, or Diva of Jean-Jacques Beinex (Saturday 2 February at 14: 30), or Bad blood of Leos Carax (Friday 8 February to 21 h).

Chabrol to Rohmer via Pialat, the authors of the New Wave and adapt to this changing aesthetic. The 80’s will also be the play ground of new beads on the big screen in French as Isabelle Adjani, that we will be able to review in All fired up by Jean-Paul Rappeneau in the programme on Saturday 16 February to 19 h. Cycle of films, and also of conferences, the Forum des images, will also pay tribute to Pascale Ogier, another icon of the decade, Saturday, 2 February at 19: 15.
