The number of unemployed in Russia in June 2020, according to preliminary information, totaled approximately 4,606 million people. This is 6.2% of the economically active population. According to Rosstat, in comparison with June of 2019, this figure rose by 38.1%, and increase by may of this year was 2.1%. According to authorities, in state institutions of the employment service as unemployed was about 2.8 million people, including 2.6 million people were receiving unemployment benefits. Rosstat said that the number of economically active population in June 2020 amounted to 74.7 million people. 51% of the total population of the country.
